Cochrane Toyota in the Community
Team Taro Foundation (November 11, 2010)
A Cochrane teen who was diagnosed with two types of leukemia did 
not have to fight the disease alone. Almost immediately the entire community rallied round to support the family of Taro Okada, a popular Grade 10 student who would spend much of the next year in Calgary's Children's Hospital. Since this time, Taro has began a full recovery and now he and his family want to find a way to give back to the community that that reached out to them. Today we are hosting a 3 on 3 hockey fundraiser at Spray Lakes Recreation Center to raise funds for a community fund that will support the next family(s) in need.
Cochrane Toyota in parnership with IGA Cochrane was on site with their Events trailer and several staff to serve a warm BBQ hamburger lunch to all the participants in this amazing fundraiser. We thank everyone who participated and contributed to this amazing event.

We want the kids in our community to know they are welcomed, respected and appreciated.
Simply put, we are all part of the same family and in our lives our true value will be defined by what we do, not who we are. The Pride of Cochrane Initiative was born to enhance awareness of Cochrane as a retail, cultural and ideal living solution. It also enables us to promote Cochrane's unique characteristics (boosting tourism) without sacraficing our western heritage and provide Cochrane youth a chance to live and write their own chapter in our history. We venture to unite a community with a common goal and promote pride in our town and our people.

Cochrane Minor Hockey encourages and promotes certain ideals in all participants: to play 
fairly under all circumstances, to win modestly and receive defeat with a smile, to give credit to the team that wins, to learn a love for the game above the prize and to work as a team in every situation. Many life lessons begin here and Cochrane Toyota is proud to be a supporter!

The Sustainability Plan was created to bring the idea of urban sustainability into practical action. We are both a think tank and a "do tank," bringing together the business community, civil society organizations and various levels of government to tackle urban issues.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cochrane partnership shares a funding focus
to assist families to live free from abuse, give children the skills they need to build futures they want and help people obtain the resources the need to live dignified, satisfied lives through professionally supported, one-on-o ne relationships with caring adult volunteers.
